2 ribeye or sirloin steaks (1-inch thick)
1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp butter
For the Cajun Shrimp:
½ lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp butter
For the Garlic Butter Sauce:
3 tbsp butter
3 cloves garlic, minced
½ cup chicken or beef broth
¼ cup heavy cream (optional, for a creamier sauce)
1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
Squeeze of fresh lemon juice
Directions
Prepare the Cajun Steak:
Season the Steak:
Generously season both sides of the steaks with Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper.
Sear the Steak:
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil and butter. Once hot, add the steaks and cook for about 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness. Remove the steaks from the skillet and cover them loosely with foil to rest.
Prepare the Cajun Shrimp:
Season the Shrimp:
In a bowl, toss the shrimp with Cajun seasoning.
Sear the Shrimp:
In the same skillet, add olive oil and butter. Add the shrimp and cook for about 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
Make the Garlic Butter Sauce:
Sauté the Garlic:
In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
Add Broth and Cream (Optional):
Stir in the broth and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes. If desired, add heavy cream for a richer sauce.
Finish the Sauce:
Squeeze in a bit of fresh lemon juice and stir in the parsley. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Serve:
Plate the Feast:
Place the steak and shrimp on a large serving platter. Drizzle the garlic butter sauce over the steak and shrimp.
Garnish and Enjoy:
Garnish with extra parsley and lemon wedges for serving.
