For the Steak Bites:
– 1 lb sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
– Salt and pepper, to taste
– 3 tablespoons butter, divided
– 4 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
For the Mashed Potatoes:
– 2 lbs potatoes, peeled and cubed
– 1/4 cup butter
– 1/2 cup heavy cream (adjust for desired consistency)
– Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Mashed Potatoes:
– In a large pot, boil the potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
– Drain and return to the pot. Add butter and heavy cream, mashing until smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Set aside, keeping warm.
2. Cook the Steak Bites:
– Season steak cubes with salt and pepper.
– In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Add steak bites in a single layer, cooking for about 2-3 minutes per side until browned and cooked to your desired doneness. Remove and set aside.
– In the same skillet, add the remaining butter and minced garlic, sautéing for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
– Return the steak bites to the skillet and toss in the garlic butter sauce.
3. Serve:
– Spoon mashed potatoes onto a plate and top with the garlic butter steak bites. Garnish with fresh parsley.
