Caramelized Onion and Cheese Steak Sandwich

Ingredients:
– 1 pound flank steak, sliced thin
– 2 large onions, sliced
– 2 tablespoons olive oil
– 1 teaspoon salt
– 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
– 4 slices of cheese (like provolone or cheddar)
– 4 hoagie rolls
– Optional: hot sauce or mayonnaise
Instructions:
1. In a large pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
2. Add the sliced onions and sprinkle with salt. Cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring often, until the onions are golden and caramelized.
3. In another pan, cook the sliced flank steak over medium-high heat until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Season with black pepper.
4. Combine the cooked steak with the caramelized onions in the pan.
5. Place the cheese slices on top of the steak and onion mixture. Cover the pan for a few minutes until the cheese melts.
6. Split the hoagie rolls and fill them with the steak, onion, and melted cheese mixture.
7. If you like, add hot sauce or mayonnaise before closing the sandwich.
8. Serve the sandwiches warm and enjoy!”
