Apple Cinnamon Puff Pastry Delight

Ingredients:
700g puff pastry (store-bought or homemade)
3 medium apples (preferably Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
45g sugar (for the apples)
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tbsp lemon juice
20g unsalted butter (melted)
1 tbsp cornstarch
1 egg (for egg wash)
1 tbsp milk
Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Apples:
Peel, core, and thinly slice the apples.
In a bowl, toss them with sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, and cornstarch. Let them sit for 10 minutes to release their juices.
2. Prepare the Puff Pastry:
Preheat the oven to 200Β°C (400Β°F).
Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut it into desired shapes (squares, rectangles, or circles).
3. Assemble the Pastries:
Place the apple mixture evenly over half of the pastry pieces, leaving a small border around the edges.
Brush the edges with a bit of water, then place another pastry piece on top, sealing the edges by pressing with a fork.
4. Egg Wash & Baking:
In a small bowl, whisk the egg with milk, then brush the tops of the pastries.
Make small slits on top to allow steam to escape.
Bake for 18β22 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
5. Finishing Touches:
Allow to cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar if desired.
Serve warm and enjoy!
