Ingredients:
For the Dough:
1 cup warm milk (110°F/45°C) 🥛
2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet) 🍞
1/4 cup sugar 🍬
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted 🧈
1 teaspoon vanilla extract 🍦
1/2 teaspoon salt 🧂
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 🌾
1 large egg 🥚
For the Blueberry Filling:
1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries 🍇
1/4 cup sugar 🍬
1 tablespoon cornstarch 🌽
1 teaspoon lemon juice 🍋
For the Cinnamon Sugar Filling:
1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened 🧈
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed 🍯
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon 🌿
For the Glaze:
1 cup powdered sugar 🍚
2 tablespoons milk 🥛
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 🍦
Instructions:
1️⃣ Prepare the Dough:
In a small bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Stir and let it sit for 5-10 minutes, or until the mixture becomes frothy.
In a large bowl, mix the melted butter, vanilla extract, and salt. Add the yeast mixture and egg, stirring to combine.
Gradually add the flour, mixing until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5-7 minutes, until it becomes smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
2️⃣ Make the Blueberry Filling:
In a small saucepan, combine the blueberries, sugar, cornstarch, and lemon juice. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the blueberries release their juice and the mixture thickens (about 5-7 minutes). Remove from heat and set aside to cool.
3️⃣ Prepare the Cinnamon Sugar Filling:
In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon until smooth.
4️⃣ Assemble the Cinnamon Rolls:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a 12×18-inch rectangle.
Spread the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
Spoon the blueberry filling over the cinnamon sugar layer.
Carefully roll the dough into a tight log, starting from one long edge.
Slice the roll into 12 even pieces and place them in the prepared baking dish.
5️⃣ Bake the Rolls:
Cover the rolls with a clean towel and let them rise for an additional 30 minutes.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
6️⃣ Prepare the Glaze:
In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
7️⃣ Serve:
Drizzle the glaze over the warm cinnamon rolls and enjoy!
