Bacon Cheeseburger Patty Melt

Ingredients:

4 slices bacon
4 hamburger patties
4 slices Swiss cheese
8 slices rye bread
1/2 cup caramelized onions
2 tbsp butter
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:

Cook the bacon in a skillet until crispy, then set aside.
Season the hamburger patties with salt and pepper and cook them on medium heat until they reach your preferred doneness.
Top each patty with a slice of Swiss cheese and allow it to melt.
Butter one side of each slice of rye bread.
On the unbuttered side of two slices, layer the caramelized onions, a cooked patty with melted cheese, and two slices of crispy bacon.
Top with the second slice of bread, buttered side up.
Grill the sandwich on medium heat until both sides are golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
Slice and serve!
