This fish and shrimp casserole (cassolette de poissons et crevettes) is a rich, creamy seafood bake inspired by French comfort cooking. Tender fish and juicy shrimp are simmered in a silky sauce, then baked until golden and bubbling.

🥣 Ingredients
300g white fish fillets (cod, hake, or similar)
250g shrimp (peeled & deveined)
1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp olive oil
2 cloves garlic (minced)
1 small onion (finely chopped)
1 cup cream (heavy cream or cooking cream)
1/2 cup milk
1 tbsp flour (to thicken sauce)
1/2 cup grated cheese (optional: Gruyère or mozzarella)
1 tsp lemon juice
Salt & black pepper
1/2 tsp paprika
Fresh parsley
👨‍🍳 Step-by-Step Instructions
Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
In a pan, heat butter and olive oil. Sauté onion and garlic until soft.
Sprinkle flour and stir to form a light roux.
Slowly add milk and cream, stirring until smooth and thickened.
Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and lemon juice.
Add fish pieces and shrimp into the sauce and mix gently.
Transfer mixture into a baking dish.
Sprinkle cheese on top (optional).
Bake for 20–25 minutes until bubbly and golden.
Garnish with parsley and serve hot.
