Ingredients (serves 4โ€“6):

For the Chicken:
โ€ข 2โ€“3 lbs chicken pieces (legs, thighs, wings)
โ€ข 2 cups buttermilk
โ€ข 1 tsp salt

โ€ข 1 tsp hot sauce (optional)

For the Coating:
โ€ข 2 cups all-purpose flour

For Frying:

Instructions:
1. Marinate chicken in buttermilk, salt, pepper, and hot sauce for at least 4 hours (overnight is best).
2. In a shallow bowl, mix flour with all dry seasonings.
3. Heat oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC).
4. Dredge marinated chicken in seasoned flour, pressing to adhere.
5. Fry in batches 10โ€“15 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through.
