Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef
Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
1 medium onion, chopped
15 ounces tomato sauce
6 ounces tomato paste
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 tablespoon dried parsley flakes
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Crushed red pepper flakes, to taste
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1 cup water
1/4 cup fresh basil leaves (optional)
Spaghetti noodles, for serving
Directions:
Season the ground beef with salt and pepper.
In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and chopped onion over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess grease.
Stir in the tomato sauce, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, parsley flakes, garlic powder, crushed red pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and sugar. Mix well to combine.
Pour in the water and stir until fully incorporated. Bring the sauce to a boil.
Reduce the heat to low and let simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
If using, stir in the fresh chopped basil just before serving.
Serve hot over cooked spaghetti noodles.
