BLT Sandwich

Classic Bacon, Lettuce & Tomato Sandwich with a Toasted Crunch

Ingredients:
6 slices thick-cut bacon
4 slices of bread (white, whole wheat, or sourdough)
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
4 leaves of crisp romaine or iceberg lettuce
2 large ripe tomatoes, sliced
Β½ teaspoon black pepper (optional)
Β½ teaspoon sea salt (optional)
Directions:
Preheat a skillet over medium heat and cook the bacon until crispy, about 4-5 minutes per side. Drain on a paper towel.
Toast the bread slices until golden brown.
Spread mayonnaise evenly on one side of each slice of toast.
Layer the lettuce, tomato slices, and crispy bacon on one slice of bread. Sprinkle lightly with salt and black pepper if desired.
Top with the second slice of bread, mayo side down.
Slice the sandwich in half and serve immediately.
