Apple Pie Bombs

Ingredients:
1 can (8-count) refrigerated biscuits (e.g., Pillsbury Homestyle Butter Tastin’)
1 ½ cups apple pie filling (homemade or store-bought)
½ teaspoon cinnamon (optional, for enhancing store-bought filling)
¼ cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
Optional: Caramel sauce or vanilla ice cream for serving
Instructions:
Preheat Oven:
Preheat to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
Prepare the Filling:
If using store-bought apple pie filling, dice the apple slices into smaller chunks for easier stuffing.
Add extra cinnamon if desired for more flavor.
Prepare Biscuits:
Flatten each biscuit into a 4-inch circle.
Place about 1-2 tablespoons of apple pie filling in the center of each flattened biscuit.
Form the Bombs:
Carefully pull the edges of the biscuit up and around the filling, pinching the seams to seal tightly.
Ensure no filling is exposed to prevent leaking during baking.
Cinnamon Sugar Coating:
In a small bowl, mix the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon.
Brush each dough ball with melted butter, then roll in the cinnamon-sugar mixture to coat evenly.
Bake:
Arrange the apple pie bombs seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown.
Serve:
Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Serve warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of caramel sauce.
Tips:
Make-Ahead: These can be assembled a few hours in advance and refrigerated until ready to bake.
Enhance Flavor: Add a sprinkle of nutmeg or cloves to the apple filling for a more complex flavor profile.
