🍓 Strawberry Puff Pastry Hearts – A Sweet Treat for Valentine’s Day

In the heart of winter, my grandmother would fill the house with the warmth and smell of these delightful Strawberry Puff Pastry Hearts, reminding us that love is as sweet as these precious treats. Perfect for showing a little extra love, they’re a timeless family treasure!

Ingredients:
✔️ 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
✔️ 4 tablespoons strawberry jam
✔️ 1 egg, beaten
✔️ 1 tablespoon water
✔️ Fresh strawberries, thinly sliced
✔️ Powdered sugar for dusting

Directions:

1️⃣ Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2️⃣ Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface.
3️⃣ Using a heart-shaped cookie cutter, cut out heart shapes from the puff pastry.
4️⃣ Place half of the hearts on the prepared baking sheet and spread a small amount of strawberry jam in the center of each.
5️⃣ Lay the sliced strawberries over the jam.
6️⃣ In a small bowl, mix the beaten egg with water, and brush the edges of each heart with the egg wash.
7️⃣ Place the remaining hearts on top, pressing down gently to seal the edges.
8️⃣ Brush the tops with more egg wash for a golden finish.
9️⃣ Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, until puffed and golden brown.
