Juicy Steak in a Rich, Creamy Cajun Shrimp Sauce

Ingredients:

For the Steak:

2 ribeye or sirloin steaks
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tablespoon olive oil
For the Cajun Shrimp Sauce:

1/2 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
2 tablespoons butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
1 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup chicken or beef broth
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Directions:

Prepare the Steak:

Season the steaks with salt and pepper.
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the steaks for 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or to your desired doneness. Remove the steaks from the skillet and set aside to rest.
Make the Cajun Shrimp Sauce:

In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the shrimp and sprinkle with Cajun seasoning. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp and set aside.
Add minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
Pour in the heavy cream and chicken or beef broth. Stir in Parmesan cheese and smoked paprika, if using. Simmer for 3-5 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
Return the shrimp to the skillet, stirring to coat in the sauce.
Combine and Serve:

Plate the steaks and spoon the creamy Cajun shrimp sauce over them.
Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes or steamed vegetables.
