400g beef sirloin or flank (thinly sliced)
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp cornstarch
Salt & black pepper
1 tbsp oil
🧄 Aromatics:
5 cloves garlic (minced) 🧄
1 tsp ginger (grated)
🥣 Sauce:
3 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tsp sugar or honey 🍯
½ cup beef broth or water
1 tsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (slurry)
1 tsp sesame oil (finish)
🌿 Fresh Finish:
½ cup fresh cilantro (chopped) 🌿
Optional: sliced chili 🌶️
Optional: lime juice 🍋
👨🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Marinate beef
Toss beef with soy sauce, cornstarch, salt, and pepper
Rest for 10 minutes
2️⃣ Sear beef
Heat oil in wok or pan
Stir-fry beef quickly until browned
Remove and set aside
3️⃣ Build flavor
Add garlic and ginger to the same pan
Sauté until fragrant (don’t burn!)
4️⃣ Add sauce
Pour in soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, and broth
Simmer briefly
5️⃣ Combine & thicken
Return beef to pan
Add cornstarch slurry
Stir until glossy and coated
6️⃣ Finish fresh
Turn off heat
Add cilantro and toss gently
