Chicken Cordon Bleu Quesadilla

Ingredients π
4 large flour tortillas
2 cups (300 g) cooked chicken breast, shredded or diced
1 cup (150 g) cooked ham, diced or sliced into small cubes
2 cups (200 g) shredded Swiss cheese (or substitute with mozzarella for extra meltiness)
2 tbsp Dijon mustard or honey mustard (for classic Cordon Bleu flavor)
2 tbsp butter or olive oil (for frying)
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp dried parsley (plus extra for garnish)
Optional: Ranch or honey mustard for dipping
Directionsπ
1. Prepare the Tortillas:
Spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard on one side of each tortilla. This adds the classic tangy flavor of Chicken Cordon Bleu.
2. Assemble the Quesadillas:
On half of each tortilla, layer the shredded chicken, diced ham, and a generous handful of shredded Swiss cheese.
Sprinkle lightly with garlic powder and dried parsley to enhance the flavors.
Fold the tortilla over to create a semi-circle, pressing gently to hold the ingredients in place.
3. Cook the Quesadillas:
Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add 1/2 tablespoon of butter or a drizzle of olive oil.
Place the folded quesadilla in the skillet and cook for 2β3 minutes on each side, or until the tortilla is golden brown and the cheese is fully melted.
Repeat with the remaining quesadillas, adding more butter or oil as needed.
4. Slice and Garnish:
Remove the quesadillas from the skillet and let them cool slightly. Slice each one into thirds or quarters.
Garnish with a sprinkle of dried parsley for a fresh, vibrant touch.
5. Serve:
Serve warm with a side of honey mustard or ranch dipping sauce for a delicious and classic finish.
