Cheesy Garlic Bread Sloppy Joes

Ingredients:
For the Sloppy Joes:
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup ketchup
1/4 cup tomato paste
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/4 cup water
For the Garlic Bread:
8 slices of bread (French or Italian works best)
1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
Directions:
Prepare the Sloppy Joe mixture: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
Add the onion and garlic to the skillet and sauté for 3-4 minutes, or until the onion is soft and translucent.
Stir in the ketchup, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and water. Simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens.
Preheat your oven’s broiler. In a small bowl, mix the softened butter with the minced garlic and garlic powder. Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over each slice of bread.
Place the bread slices on a baking sheet and sprinkle them with the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheeses.
Broil the bread for 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Keep a close eye to avoid burning.
Assemble the Sloppy Joes: Spoon the Sloppy Joe mixture over the cheesy garlic bread slices. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve immediately.
