🛒 Ingredients
1 kg chicken pieces (legs, thighs, wings)
2 cups buttermilk
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
For coating:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
For frying:
Vegetable oil (for deep frying)
👨‍🍳 Instructions
Marinate the chicken
In a bowl, mix buttermilk, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Add chicken and marinate for at least 1 hour (overnight is best).
Prepare coating
In another bowl, mix flour with spices.
Coat the chicken
Remove chicken from marinade, dredge in flour mixture, pressing well for a thick coating.
Heat oil
Heat oil to 170–175°C.
Fry
Fry chicken in batches for 15–18 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
Drain & serve
Place on paper towels, rest for 5 minutes, then serve hot.
