Liver and Onions with Bacon

A classic and hearty dish that combines tender liver, caramelized onions, and crispy bacon in a savory sauce.
Ingredients:
4 slices of bacon
1 lb beef liver, sliced
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
2 large onions, sliced
2 tablespoons butter
1 cup beef broth
Instructions:
1. In a large skillet, cook bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove bacon from skillet and set aside.
2. Season liver slices with salt and pepper, then dredge them in flour until coated.
3. In the same skillet with bacon drippings, add butter and increase heat to medium-high.
4. Add liver slices to the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side until browned. Remove liver from skillet and set aside.
5. Add onions to the skillet and cook until they start to caramelize, about 10 minutes.
6. Pour beef broth into the skillet and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom.
7. Return liver and bacon to the skillet, cover, and simmer for another 5-10 minutes until liver is cooked through and flavors meld together.
8. Season with additional salt and pepper if needed.
9. Serve hot and enjoy your Liver and Onions with Bacon!
