Savory Beef Wellington Recipe

Ingredients:
1 sheet of puff pastry π₯
1 lb ground beef π₯©
1 onion π§
(chopped)
2 tbsp olive oil π«
1 tbsp fresh thyme πΏ (for garnish)
1/4 cup beef broth π²
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce πΆ
1 tbsp flour (for thickening)
Salt & pepper π§
1 egg (for egg wash) π³
Instructions:
Prepare the Filling:
Heat the olive oil π« in a skillet over medium heat.
Add chopped onions π§
and cook until soft and translucent.
Add the ground beef π₯© and brown until fully cooked, breaking it apart with a spoon.
Stir in beef broth π², Worcestershire sauce πΆ, and season with salt & pepper π§.
Sprinkle in the flour and stir to combine. Let the mixture simmer for 5-7 minutes, thickening into a rich filling. Let cool.
Assemble the Wellington:
Roll out the puff pastry π₯ on a lightly floured surface.
Spoon the cooled beef mixture in the center of the pastry, then fold up the edges to encase the filling.
Brush the edges with beaten egg π³ to seal the pastry.
Bake:
Preheat your oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).
Place the wrapped pastry onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Brush the top with more beaten egg for a golden crust.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden and crispy.
