Egg, Chips, Bacon & Beans

Crispy chips, runny egg, smoky bacon, and baked beans — a British café-style comfort meal that never misses.

Ingredients (Serves 2):
• 2 eggs
• 4 rashers of bacon (back or streaky)
• 2–3 large potatoes (or frozen chips)
• 1 can baked beans
• Oil for frying
• Salt, pepper & vinegar to taste
Instructions:
1. Make the chips
Peel and cut potatoes into thick chips. Parboil 5 minutes, drain, then roast or deep-fry until golden and crispy.
2. Fry the bacon
Cook bacon in a hot pan until crispy or to your preferred doneness. Set aside and keep warm.
3. Warm the beans
Heat baked beans gently in a saucepan, stirring occasionally.
4. Fry the eggs
In the bacon pan or fresh oil, fry eggs sunny-side-up or over-easy. Season with salt and pepper.
5. Assemble the plate
Heap on the chips, add bacon, spoon over beans, and top with a fried egg.
