Italian Sausage with Peppers and Onions ππ«π§

Juicy sausage, sweet bell peppers, and caramelized onions β perfect in a bun or over pasta!
Ingredients:
β’ 1 lb Italian sausage links (mild or hot)
β’ 2 tbsp olive oil
β’ 1 red bell pepper, sliced
β’ 1 green bell pepper, sliced
β’ 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
β’ 1 large onion, thinly sliced
β’ 2 garlic cloves, minced
β’ 1/4 cup chicken broth (or white wine)
β’ 1 tsp dried oregano
β’ Salt & pepper to taste
β’ Optional: hoagie rolls or crusty bread for serving
Instructions:
1. Brown the sausage
In a large skillet, heat 1 tbsp olive oil over medium heat. Brown sausages on all sides (about 5β7 minutes). Remove and set aside.
2. SautΓ© the veggies
In the same skillet, add remaining oil. SautΓ© peppers and onions until soft and slightly caramelized (8β10 mins). Add garlic and cook 1 minute more.
3. Deglaze and simmer
Add broth or wine to deglaze the pan. Return sausages to the skillet. Sprinkle with oregano, salt, and pepper. Cover and simmer for 10β15 minutes until sausages are cooked through.
4. Serve
Spoon sausage, peppers, and onions into toasted rolls or serve over pasta, rice, or polenta.
